Call for Applicants 2019-2020

The GSA is seeking applicants for the following positions (check back, as this list will be updated as needs arise):

Vice President of Internal Affairs

Deadline: May 22, 2019

The Vice President of Internal Affairs assists the GSA President with executive and administrative duties. These include serving as liaison to the UAW and GradSuccess, working with GSA Liaisons, organizing GSA elections, and assigning representatives to campus committees.
This is a paid position. The stipend for 2019-2020 will be $5,310 annually, paid monthly. The term of this appointment will be ten months, from September 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020. Applicants must have 6 months of GSA experience.

Secretary/Webmaster

Deadline: May 22, 2019

The Secretary/Webmaster is the Parliamentarian of the Graduate Student Council (GSC) and records and maintains minutes of all actions taken at GSC and Executive Board Meetings. The Secretary/Webmaster is also responsible for updating and modifying the GSA website and social media under the direction of the Public Relations Officer and President.

This is a paid position. The stipend for 2019-2020 will be $2,400 annually, paid monthly.  The term of this appointment will be ten months, from September 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 (with an option to renew for the next academic year).

International Student Affairs Officer

Deadline: May 22, 2019

The International Student Affairs Officer advocates on behalf of the international graduate student community at UCR and raises issues affecting international students to the Executive Board and GSC. This position coordinates with the GSA President and university administration to resolve issues and provide opportunities to address concerns international students face.

This is a paid position. The stipend for 2019-2020 will be $1,080 annually, paid monthly.  The term of this appointment will be nine months, from September 1, 2019 – May 31, 2020 (with an option to renew for the next academic year).

Legislative Advocacy Officer

Deadline: May 22, 2019

The Legislative Advocacy Officer is an assistant to the Vice President of External Affairs (VPEA) and is primarily responsible for tracking legislative matters on the local, state, and federal level and making recommendations to the EVP, coordinating with UCR Government and Community Relations and UCGPC on behalf of the EVP, and organizing lobbying efforts.

This is a paid position. The stipend for 2019-2020 will be $1,200 annually, paid monthly.  The term of this appointment will be ten months, from September 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 (with an option to renew for the next academic year).

UC Advocacy Officer

Deadline: May 22, 2019

The The UC Advocacy Officer is an assistant to the Vice President of External Affairs (VPEA) and is primarily responsible for assisting the EVP in advocating for UCR graduate students as members of the UC System.  This person will attend UC Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC) meetings with the EVP and track issues addressed on the system level by UCOP, through the UCGPC, or its equivalent, and raised by UCR Graduate Students in the GSA Executive Board and GSC meetings. 

This is a paid position. The stipend for 2019-2020 will be $1,200 annually, paid monthly.  The term of this appointment will be ten months, from September 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020 (with an option to renew for the next academic year).

Academic Affairs Officers

Deadline: May 22, 2019
The AAOs (one per college) serve as assistants to the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) and liaisons between the VPAA and the college and department reps.  The AAO, under the direction of the VPAA, meets quarterly with the Dean of their College and with the Mini-GSA Reps in the college.  The AAO will communicate GSA issues and programs to departments and can organize interdepartmental events within their college.
This is a paid position. The stipend for 2019-2020 will be $1,080 annually for BCOE, paid $120 monthly (pro-rated based on start date).  The term of this appointment will be nine months, from September 1, 2018 – May 31, 2019 (with an option to renew for the next academic year).
